Town slipped out of the top 6 tonight after being held to a draw by Kevin Blackwell's Sheffield United side. Town started the brighter side but a defensive lapse allowed Michael Tonge to cross in to an unmarked James Bettie who headed home.

Alan Lee got Town's goal in the 56th minute when he headed in Jon Walters' cross. Both sides had chances to win the game with efforts hitting the bar and being denied by some bad luck or just good defending.

Ipswich: Bywater, Wright, De Vos, Naylor, Harding, Haynes (Quinn 70), Norris, Sumulikoski (Garvan 70), Walters, Lee, Counago.

Another chance to make ground on the principle has gone begging. I have now officially given up on us getting an automatic spot now. Tbh, the playoffs are looking like a tall order too.
