Town manager Jim Magilton feels his side lacked confidence in the final third of the pitch against Stoke today. Jim: "I thought it was a competent away performance but we didn't show enough in the final third to really hurt them, Alan Lee had a great chance before they scored and if that had gone in then it may have been a different story.

"We started well and controlled the flow of the game but we never really showed the belief in and around their box and that is disappointing.

"In the second-half, again we had plenty of possession but we didn't really create anything. I think their 'keeper had very little to do and it was the same with Stephen Bywater.

"Their goal was a fantastic strike by Liam Lawrence, who is a very good player and Stoke certainly have the capability to go on and win promotion.

"For us, we have to lick our wounds and start again at Southampton next week."
