New Town signing David Norris has explained why he joined Town instead of linking up with former manager Ian Holloway at Leicester City. Norris joined Town for a fee reported to be as high £2.4million on Wednesday and he is inline t make his Town debut against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow and he promises to give his all while playing for Town.

Norris: "They (Town's fans) will get a hard-working player who gets box to box. I give everything every game so hopefully I can help us win games and score a few goals along the way.

"Looking at where they (Town) are in the league, with the new investor and a good manager then it is entirely realistic to look at promotion. Ipswich are nicely poised and ready for the big push.

"It was difficult leaving the manager and the coaching staff and the fans (at Plymouth) but I felt I had to make a decision purely on the football and I felt maybe Plymouth's ambitions did not match mine.

"Ian Holloway leaving and then players going contributed to that because at the time we were sat nicely in the league but then lost some of our first team players.

"I knew there was interest from Leicester but I had my heart set on Ipswich and wanted to come here. Last summer when there was initial interest rebuffed I just set it to one side. But when they came back in January then I knew it was time to make the move."
