Rob Jones' agent Tony Sharkey says his client is unhappy at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian and wants a move from Easter Road before the start of next season. Jones has been linked with a move to Town but with Hibernian not currently taking any bids for players, due to the lack of manager it looks unlikely that Jones will join Town this month although a summer transfer could be on the cards.
Sharkey: "The current situation is that he is not happy where he is, but obviously he is under contract and until a firm offer comes in then he is going to have to sit tight.
"Of course he would be very interested in a move to Ipswich but we've never had any discussions with them as that's not the way things should be done.
"I had heard that Jim has been up to see Rob a few times but nothing has come of it yet.
"He is determined to get away from Easter Road by the summer at the latest, he certainly has no long term future with Hibs.
"Rob is not happy with his situation and would like to see his future elsewhere.
"But unless a bid comes in then there is nothing to speak of."
