Former Town midfielder Jason Dozzell will appear in court on New Years Eve after being caught drink driving in Ipswich in the early hours of Sunday morning. Dozzell was stopped by police between 3 and 4am on Sunday morning near the Cardinal Park complex where he was enjoying a night out with friends and former colleagues from his playing days at Town.

Dozzell came through the Youth System at Town and made his debut in 1984, aged just 16 and 57 days, he marked the occasion by scoring and becoming the youngest player to ever play and score in the Old First Division and he went on to play more then 400 times for Town, scoring 73 goals.

He moved to Spurs in 1993 for £1.9 million and did return to Portman Road on-loan in 1997 before moving to Northampton Town, Colchester and Canvey Island before taking up management in the Ridgeons League.
