Former Town defender Scott Barron has joined league one side Millwall after being released by Town at the end of last season. The 21-year-old had the final year of his contract paid up at the end of last season after failing to break into Jim Magilton's first team but he has now signed a two year deal with the league one side who a re managed by former Town coach Willie Donachie.

Donachie: "Scott is a very good professional and after failing to break into Jim's team, he wants to prove them wrong by doing well with us.

"I had backed him to become a good first team player at Ipswich.

"He is not the biggest, but he has really worked on his fitness and got a lot stronger recently - and he can run all day. He can play anywhere on the left."

He may soon be joined at the new Den by Darren Currie who is reportedly being watched by Millwall and Colchester United.
