Town manager Jim Magilton says Gavin Williams has a lot of work to do if he is to be ready to play for the start of the season. Williams has been spending a lot of time in Denmark receiving treatment for a pelvic injury that had forced him to miss large parts of last season and there is still a lot of work to be done before he is ready to play.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Gavin has been away for some of the time for the last six weeks and his injury has still not settled down, it is still niggling away and he will have to work hard to get it right.

"Gavin has to realise that this is what has to be done to get him 100 per cent.

"He missed a great deal of training last season, but may have felt he was OK because of the number of matches he was able to get in.

"Once he realises this it should benefit him as in an ideal world I want him available for every game and not have to miss as many matches as last season.

"If this was two weeks before the start of the campaign I would be not very happy.

"But we still have time and hopefully Gavin will make a lot of progress over the next month or so and be ready to make the impact that we want from him consistently in the team."
