Surgery on Town defender Jason De Vos’ foot has been a success and he is expected to be fit again for the start of pre-season training.

De Vos fractured a bone in his foot a month ago but only underwent surgery yesterday as it was the latest he could have the operation and still be back for pre-season.  

 

Jason: “The specialist has told me that the surgery has gone well.

 

“Everything is very positive and if my recovery goes to plan, I should be able to join the rest of the lads for the start of pre-season training.

 

“From past experience I know that if you miss the start of pre-season, you are always playing catch-up - and you never make it.

 

“I hate missing games and we held off as long as we could before I had the operation but we couldn't go beyond this week otherwise it would definitely have put me behind the others in the summer.

 

“At best you are looking at eight weeks before I can start kicking a ball again and although you can never guarantee everything will go according to plan in the recovery, at least now the surgery is done I have a decent chance of being back for the first day of training.”
