PMM: Sheff W – Town

Reaction from Town manager Jim Magilton following Town’s 2-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday earlier today.

Jim: “I didn't feel we were under pressure in the first-half and we controlled much of the possession, we could have shown a little more quality on the ball though, especially in the final third where we lacked that cutting edge.

“It was a game where the first goal was always going to be crucial and unfortunately they got it early in the second-half and that was disappointing.

“It was a bad goal to give away as well, although to be fair to the lad, it was a good finish. The second one was possibly offside but when you are two goals down against a team that's on a good run, it's going to be difficult.

“That said, we got on the ball again and forced them back. If Franny Jeffers' free-kick had gone in rather than hit the post, then things may have been different.

“Jason De Vos had a header that was in if it hadn't hit Alex Bruce so we had chances but it didn't go our way.

“So we have to lick our wounds, pick ourselves up and get back on track for a very important game against Derby at the weekend.”
