Jim Challenges Dean

Town manager Jim Magilton wants Dean Bowditch to recapture the form that made him one of the hottest prospects in English football.

Dean made his debut as a 16-year-old against Norwich in 2003 but four years on he has failed to progress, but Jim wants that to stop.

Jim: “Dean was seen as the 'great white hope' a few years back but his career has not made the progress he would have hoped for, there is no doubting his ability though. You don't play in a first-team at 16 if you haven't got the talent.

“The trials and tribulations he has gone through will stand him in good stead though. He's only 20 and needs to find some consistency in his game. He needs to regain that confidence that he is a really good player, because that is what he is.

“He's back from injury now and I want him to push on from now and show the consistency in his game that can make him a regular first-team player at this Club.”
