Jim Eyeing Cup Run

Town manager Jim Magilton is hoping that Town progress past the fourth round of the FA cup this year but has warned to his players about the potential banana skin in the 3rd round.

Town will face either Bury or Chester City away in the 3rd round of the cup, a game which Jim sees as a banana skin no matter which team Town face.

Jim: “It's a potential banana skin for us.

“Whether it be Bury or Chester, they are sure to be fired up for it and will look at it as an opportunity for a giant killing.

“It's a tricky tie for us and we have to go there with the right attitude, match their determination and make sure we do a professional job.

“The FA Cup is a wonderful competition but it's one that I didn't have much success in as a player unfortunately, I reached the Quarter-Finals once with Southampton but that's as good as it got and my record here at Ipswich is not great at all.

“We're overdue a decent run in the competition and it would be nice to put that right this season.”
