Jon’s Goal Confusion

Town striker Jon Macken can’t see why his goal against Colchester United was ruled out.

Jon scored what he thought was his first goal as a Town player when he prodded the ball over the line during Town’s 1-0 defeat against Colchester United last night.

 

Jon: “The referee said there had been a foul on the 'keeper but I don't know how he came to that decision, I certainly never touched him and just put the ball over the line. The lads all thought it was a harsh decision.”

 

Colchester boss Geraint Williams also couldn’t see why the goal was disallowed, saying: “I couldn't see why the goal was ruled out.

 

“Of course I'm glad it wasn't given, but if I had been Jim Magilton I would have been disappointed.”
