Parkin Picks Hatters

Town striker Sam Parkin is ready to sign for Luton Town after agreeing terms with the hatters.

The 25-year-old had a choice between Luton and Preston but has opted for the move to Kenilworth Road so he can remain in the South of England.

Preston boss Paul Simpson: “It is disappointing that Sam has chosen to sign for Luton Town but we have to respect his decision.

“Everyone knows he was a player I was very keen on bringing to Preston North End because I believed he would improve the squad, that is now not going to happen and we will now turn our attentions elsewhere.

“His decision appears to be based solely on the location of Luton and it's proximity to London, where his family and partner are based. We are told that the financial package exactly matched that of Luton Town but we could never compete on the location.”

Town will land £300,000 for Parkin who managed just 5 goals last season, partly due to injury and partly due to our previous managers tactics and idiot fans getting on his back.

Singing The Blues would like to wish Sam the best of luck for the future.
