Sheepy: More To Come

Town chairman David Sheepshanks says Town will make more signings before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Mark Noble and Simon Walton will both sign on-loan from West Ham and Charlton respectively later today and Mr Sheepshanks says more will follow.

Mr Sheepshanks: “It's terrific news that Jim has been able to bring in these two top young players from the Premiership.

“We are intent on recruiting yet more players on a permanent basis between now and the 31st August deadline.

“Jim has money available and contrary to rumour, it has not disappeared into a black hole. The money we are generating is destined for further investment in the team. With the players we have, plus these and our recent new recruits and the prospect of more to come, I think Town supporters can have plenty to look forward to.

“Jim is working tirelessly every day on bringing in the players he wants and the funds are there but in football, these things take time.

“Despite the disappointment of the first three games we've enjoyed a positive week, what with Lewis Price and Alex Bruce playing for their respective countries at U21 level and Alan Lee and Gavin Williams both named in squads for their senior national sides as well before minor injury forced them to withdraw.

“I understand some supporters being nervous after our start and it may take more time for our new players to bed in and gel into the team we all want to see, however Jim has served notice of the way he wants to play and we saw encouraging evidence of that in our opening match.

“On Saturday we are back at home again and I hope we can finish the week off in style and I ask our all our fabulous supporters to get right behind Jim and his players and spur them on to the first win that will kick-start our season.”
