Town striker Nicky Forster says Town should be aiming for the play-offs at least next season after a disappointing finish last season.

Forster missed much of last season due to a persistent knee injury but still managed to go on to score 7 goals in 20 appearances last season and he is hoping to continue that form into next year as Town look for a top 6 finish.

 

Forster: “We under-performed last year, although with the number of injuries we had that is perhaps not a major surprise, but we need to be aiming for the Play-Offs at least. Anything more would be a bonus.

 

“Make no mistake, the manager wants us to go out and win every single game, that's what he is asking for.

 

“We've had a good pre-season, two really competitive games so far this week against decent sides and everybody is bonding well.

 

“I'm enjoying being fit, playing games and scoring goals, I've got a good pre-season under my belt and am raring to go.

 

“I think I have got a lot to offer this team and am hungry to achieve success.

 

“There's several players vying for two places, and that can only be good for the Club, Dean and Danny were excellent on Wednesday night against Zulte/Waregem, for example.

 

“That strength in depth is what we need.

 

“I have to make sure that I am playing well enough to earn my place in the side.”
