England Vs Denmark

The pressure is really on now. With some of the favourites out, this is the best chance we will have of returning with the World Cup.

The draw against Nigeria on Wednesday was disappointing. They were very negative at times, but they cannot afford to be so today with a outcome of the match to be decided, even if it means going to the dreaded penalty shootout.

Michael Owen has yet to hit the net, he came close against Argentina striking the bottom of the post. His pace caused a few problems against Nigeria. Can he get his first goal today? His goals are vital for England's progression. I am not a fan of Heskey, who I think is as much use as Steve Kerrigan was last season. So the sooner Owen gets scoring the better.

It is hard not to underestimate the Danes, but they are a quick team with a strong and solid midfield. Our defence has looked solid although against Nigeria, their pace did cause a few problems.

If Denmark are going to pose us any problems then they need to do the same and attack our defence with speed and crisp short passes.

But can Denmark handle our attacking prowess?

There are 4 main players that are the real danger men for us.

Beckham, Owen, Scholes, and Sinclair. Scholes is the sort of player the front 2 men love to have playing behind them. He was close to scoring on Wednesday, and he is a threat all the time. Sinclair has taken his chance in the first team brilliantly. His pace and skills are a constant threat down the left wing, and maybe he can be the solution to the problem out on that flank.

If we can get a great performance and the win today, it will give a massive boost to the confidence. Don't forget that if we do win, we will more than likely face Brazil in the next round.
