Ashton Gate provided a tremendous stage for the Blues who didn't let us down. In front of a big crowd and live on TV we gave the unbeaten league leaders a real shock and a real hard time .
Leading well into the second half we eventually went down to a late try to give the hosts an 18-13 victory.
It wasn't the points fest we've come to enjoy - instead it was an absorbing battle with the Blues forwards getting really stuck in.
They forced the try which saw us go into 7-0 lead. Chris Vui was sin-binned for stopping a drive for the line, then we went over but were held up , however Brizz couldn't keep us out and the ball went out to to Dean Adamson who had an easy run in.
Hooley slotted the con and added two pens as we kept up the pressure with Bristol getting a fortunate try when a Lee Dickson kick was charged down and an unlucky bounce from the resulting kick and chase saw Morahan go over.
The home side got the score back to 11-13 with a penalty of their own before clinching the game with some irrestible pressure on our scrum, which led to Nick Haining going over.
Beaten but no dent to our growing confidence.
