You can guarantee that when the fixtures came out the first game the players looked for was the away trip to Jersey ..
Well it's here. A chance to get off the mainland and enjoy the pleasures of the island on what is effectively a mini rugby tour.
Let's also hope they don't forget the real reason they are there and that is to come back with the points.
We won the "first leg" 25-20 in a game marked by lots of sin-bins and this game may well be just as feisty.
Mike Rayer makes three changes to the side which overcame Plymouth. Henry Staff and Steffan Jones start at centre and stand off respectively with Josh Buggea in the back row.

No thoughts on the game as of yet - poor poor result - we should be able to beat the likes of Jersey if we are to compete in this league- I know I was there though and maybe they were playing with 20 men
Jersey are at our level so games against such teams should be competitive, going either way, they are in the same class as us, not better.

Not sure what the phrase "likes of Jersey" meant, but a fully pro outfit, with significant diverse sponsorship and a third season in the Championship would indicate a desire to compete at this level. Jersey aren't some backward outfit to be turned over at will. As you found out on Saturday.
I must admit the bedford defence was outstanding. Your number 1 (forgive me for not knowing name) had a stormer for 65 mins and gave a lesson in scrummaging (and the dark arts).
Personally I think the scoreline was a little flattering, but Penberthy was on good firm with the boot and denied you bonus point.
must say the blues fans were good fun throughout and even managed a golf clap at the first conversion.
Best of luck for the rest of the season, can't wait to see you next year.

Morning Teddy - the comments I was making were for Bedford support only: Bedford have a rich rugby history we should be top 4 each year - we should have ideas above our station and to be top 4 we need to be able to beat clubs like Jersey.
The fact that you need to wish us "best of luck" and thanks for your wishes- is our problem this year. We should be sitting comfortably top 4 maybe 5 looking down on the rest knowing we are safe.
I am just pleased that there appears to be poorer sides than ours this year - Plymouth for example - so fingers crossed we stay up.

Our defence held strong for pretty much all the first half. We were unlucky not to go in at half time 3pts - 0 up. They played a much better kicking game than us and were able to put the phases together without losing the ball.... Our line out wasn't very good, but our scrum seems to be getting better every game (Billy Moss - star man). A thoroughly enjoyable time away and looking forward to the next trip.

Apparently Worcester are guaranteed a play off place so who knows they may rest a few. Would be nice.
