Town Boss Mick McCarthy says that despite losing 2-0 to Leeds United away from home this afternoon in the Championship, his side could well have gained at least a point from the match.

Speaking in the post match press conference, former Republic of Ireland gaffer McCarthy admitted: “Anyone looking at that result in the paper in the morning with think it’s a routine win for Leeds but it certainly wasn’t that.

"We played well and were on top in the second-half. Their fans were getting edgy, their bench was getting edgy but then they scored a quality second goal. It was a good ball in and a terrific finish.

“I’m disappointed because we played well. It was a bad goal to give away, the first one from a corner and even when it was 2-0, we had chances.

“Chops had a great chance and there is no one you would want more than him to have the ball in that situation but it wasn’t to be.

“We’ve had a great run but we were never going to win game after game. We have to try and put another run together now.”
