Defender who came through the Ipswich Town academy, brother of Stuart Ainsley, a former Town academy scholar.

Has represented England at Under 17 level in the Nordic Cup in 2006, where he played alongside former Town team-mate Jordan Rhodes.

Made his debut for the club in August 2009 in the Carling Cup second round clash against Shrewsbury Town before joining Rushden & Diamonds on loan in November 2009 where he was involved in just one game.

Spent time on loan at Histon during the 2010/11 season and featured twice for Town's first team in the same campaign.Notched up a further two games, one in the league, and one in the cup in 2011/2012.
