Mathieu Debuchy is joining Arsenal, for what seems a knock down fee of 7.7 million, now there is two ways to look at this:
We have unloaded a player, who no longer wanted to be at the club.
He had a contract, if he doesn’t want to play anymore, let him rot in the reserves until we get an offer of full value.
Now personally I am more of a fan of option two, but never mind, he is gone. And I for one really hope this is the beginning of the end for the ‘French Revolution’.
They seem to fall into two camps, unable to actually play football, or be brilliant and want to be away.
I don’t entirely blame them, it’s not like we show ambition, but I am sick and tired of our club being a feeder club, under this dreadful regime.
So for once, could they do the right thing, not give 2 million excuses about this pathetic line, and bring in an instant replacement.
Or was it just the shock of actually buying a player mid week, and the desperate attempt to instantly recoup the money spent?
