Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has caught the eye of Al-Rayyan, a Qatar Stars League Club who are keen to sign the Senegal international at the end of the season. Cisse who has started 9 games for Newcastle this season, come on as a substitute in 9 others and scored just 3 goals, one in each domestic competition is reported to have a £6million buy out clause in his contract which will be triggered in July.
Newcastle are currently trying to secure the signing of Luuk De Jong and had hoped to use Cisse, who has another three and a half years left on his current contract, as a bargaining tool in bringing the Dutchman to the North East. Cisse however is said to prefer a move to the Arab state and he will only leave St James Park if promised first team football.
I just cant believe we would put a clause in the lads contract which allowed him to go for 2-3 mill less than we paid. This clause would have had to be put in when he originally signed so I just cant see it, especially as at the time he signed, the crack with Demba's contract was being leaked.
Its more likely that they would take that fee for him.
