Cisse To Quit Newcastle? 9Million Bid Rejected?

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse is all over the back pages of the papers today after a £9million bid from an unnamed Qatar club was allegedly turned down. Cisse who scored 13 goals in his first 13 League games, 13 goals in his second season and 3 so far this season in all competitions, has seen himself regularly on the bench this campaign.

Sensationalised across the back pages with "I Quit" the story could have some foundations.

Cisse was initially linked at an exit back in July 2013 when Newcastle signed a sponsorship deal with payday loan company Wonga. At the time he refused to wear the team shirt with a logo on as the principle of the company went against his religious beliefs.

The situation was fueled by quotes from a 'friend' who claimed the Senegal International had already packed his bags. The Club resolved the matter and Cisse has worn the shirt ever since.

Whilst this bid has been rejected it is understood that Newcastle are open to offers for the 28 year old.

The story comes just hours after Jonas Gutierrez thanked fans on Twitter in what appeared to be a very public exit from the club. That story can be viewed here.

i've never understood the whole issue with him having a problem with wearing the wonga shirt and not the virgin money shirt however getting back to the story, if he wants to go and someone has offered 9million why not let him leave, i can't see him regaining his form which will increase his value to more than 9million
