BBC Sport are reporting that Yohan Cabaye refused to play for Newcastle United today against West Ham. This would explain manager Alan Pardew's comments during his pre-match interview when he said the decision not to play him was not a difficult one to make. It would seem it had already been made for him by the Frenchman, despite no further reports of any increased offer being made.

Cabaye, who appears to be forcing a move away from the club, travelled with the team last weekend for their game against Manchester City, only to return home after the news of Arsenals's bid was made. It has further been reported that he refused to train with his colleagues this week, instead training alone.

Pardew said of the situation;

"It is quite simple - we need to resolve the situation. We need to get ourselves in a position where if he stays, great, and if he doesn't stay we need to get someone equally as good.

There should be business from us, business that is right for Newcastle where our fans get in a position where they really want to believe in the team. It's difficult at the moment. We have big clubs filling our players with disharmony.

If it is a situation where he leaves the football club, we have got to be stronger. That's my aim when the window shuts."

we've got to sell him, if a transfer doesn't go through then he'll sulk until january when his value will have dropped and we'll eventually sell him for less money, not to mention the effect it will have on the other players.

He's made it clear for months he wants to leave so why doesn't he hand in a transfer request?

It's a stand off arsenal wont improve the offer as there waiting to see if his sulking will get him on the cheap , I'd just throw him in the reserves and let him rot for next three years rather than sell him to @#$%& wenger , see how kebab gets on at the World Cup then the crybaby

Tough one to call and one I don't really care all that much about , the main thing I'm concerned with is getting a striker in and fat ash not being able to use that old chestnut of "not enough time to re-invest " once he's gone
