Remy & Bent Negotiations Confimed - But Remy Not Keen?

Newcastle United are just 48 hours away from confirming a deal for Loic Remy…….or maybe not. Joe Kinnear said earlier today that by Tuesday the club will be able to say whether or not they will be taking the 26 year old on loan from Queens Park Rangers with the option to buy at the end. The deal is worth £2million to QPR plus Newcastle have agreed to pay the players wages, but reports in France suggest that Remy himself is far more interested in a move to either Spurs, Everton or Napoli who have all recently shown an interest, than going to the North East.

Kinnear said on current negotiations on the Remy deal;

"Yeah I think very much, so I would like to think we are very, very close to agreeing that. I would think maybe Monday or Tuesday we will be a position to say yea or nay, but I am very happy about how that deal is going at the moment."

He also commented on a move for Darren Bent, but conceded that other clubs (Fulham) are also in the running for the Aston Villa striker;

"We were with Darren's agent for two or three hours, we thrashed out a deal. We are still in negotiations with Aston Villa so there is a really strong possibility there.

Again I hear the latest is that somebody else has all of a sudden shown interest in the player so we have competition from various clubs around the country, but I am not letting go.

These are players that me and Alan [Pardew] have spoken about. These are players that we've all agreed at the club are the type of player we want to bring to Newcastle."

Can't believe we're still in for bent ! All the work houghton done in getting rid of all the big ego's and troublemakers and only bringing in players who worked for the team is being destroyed
Bent is nothing but trouble and largely over rated I'd rather go with what we've got than bring this guy in

You're talking out of your hat Tom.

One thing DB isn't is troublesome. He has handled himself immaculately while at Villa - both on and off the pitch.

He is a pure striker - and by that I mean he doesn't do much else. But scoring goals - even in poor teams - is what he can do. His record proves it.

Half of the Villa fans want him to stay. I'm not one - as I think our midfield is too weak - but for a team with good midfielders - Bent will score a hatful. He isn't fashionable - and so gets overlooked - but if he was - he would be perfect for Arsenal.

He may not be your cup of tea - but to talk nonsense and slander the bloke is out of order.

You have to assume that if we do land three strikers, then Cisse must be on his way out.

That may explain the sudden climb down over the top.

Bent is to old and overpriced for mike Ashley's "transfer policy" and would be a poor move that would hold back the development opportunity for the likes of Campbell and Sammy ameobi - not ideal to go with them but better in the long term in my opponion
Remy is innocent untill proven guilty so that doesn't bother me but what does is his attitude and the stunt he pulled in jan but wouldn't mind a loan deal to give us breathing space to get another body in by next season
What has happened to the gomis deal ? Gone awfully quiet now and kind of worrying seems like the agents greed have almost killed it off

Not Convicted. You cannot hang someone before a trial.

After a trial fair enough, if he is guilty then I don't want him either, but let us actually have a trial first.

(by hang I obviousy don't mean litterally)
