Tiote Fraud Trial Between 2 Key Premier League Fixtures

Newcastle Crown Court heard today that Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote is to contest multiple charges of motoring fraud/offences. The 27 year old, whose barrister confirmed he would need a translator at trial, is to enter a plea on 6th September and is expected to deny the following offences of; 

 

 

 

  • Using a false Belgium license
  • Using a false document as ID to establish personal information about himself in December.
  • Committing fraud by allegedly using false documentation to obtain a UK driving licence in December.
  • Making a false statement that he had a full driving licence to obtain motor insurance in September 2011.
  • Driving without a licence or insurance in February

 

The trial will take place on 28th October 2013 and is booked in for 3 days. This means it will take place between games against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on the 26th and Chelsea  at home on the 2nd November.
