Joe Kinnear may be claiming that Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was “delighted” with the news of his appointment but the rest of the world have taken a different view on his return to Newcastle with the bookies slashing the odds of Pardew leaving. Pardew is now the bookies favourite to be the next manager out the door.
Kinnear was quoted saying that Pardew said;
“Great news – I’m delighted with that. At last I’ve got somebody who’s a football guy”.
It seems unlikely to have been an honest response from Pardew who no doubt will be pretty miffed at having control over signings taken away from him.
Now Pardew is 6/5 with Skybet to be the next Premier League manager to leave and 9/4 with Ladbrokes. Before Kinnear’s announcement he had been 16/1.
Pardew was previously favourite to be sacked at the end of the 2012/13 season but recovered after the club confirmed he was not going to be replaced on the back of a poor season.
