Moussa Sissoko has told how he was delighted to start the game in midweek and that Alan Pardew trusted him to do the job from the beginning. He has also praised the support from the fans, and loved the fact that many fans brought a touch of France to the game to welcome the newcomers.  Looking ahead at tomorrow's game against Chelsea, Sissoko is looking forward to making his home debut infront of a stadium full of Newcastle fans.

He told The Gazette;

“Chelsea is a massive club – they won the Champions League – but I also  believe that Newcastle has the players to compete with Chelsea at that level and  win the game.

I can’t wait to play at home in front of the huge support we have here.

It will be fantastic. It’s going to be a good match. We’ve worked really hard  in training and now we will go out and do exactly the same as it’s an important  game for us."

Talking about the win over Aston Villa in midweek he added;

“It was fantastic to see so many supporters, and get such good support from  them.

To see some of them waving the French flag was brilliant. It shows that  they’re really supporting us and they want us to do the best for the team. It  was a great match.

I was very proud to play and help Newcastle. Now Aston Villa is over, and we’re focusing on all our efforts on Chelsea,  which will be a huge game.

I was absolutely delighted. First of all it was good to start the match, the manager trusted me, which was good.

I went out to do my very best. I think I played a good match, but most importantly the team played a good match.

To come away with three points was fantastic.”

I'm looking forward to the game as well. Sissoko did well for us on Tuesday and I can only see him getting better as he gels with the team.

I honestly think he is going to be a beast in the prem and our team is going to turn the corner now thanks to a successful January.
