Great just what we need we will need the 10 day break to get people fit and hopefully refocused. Don't get your hopes up too much because they could just as easily come crashing down.

It doesnt matter one way or the other, we go to villa next and will probably have another 10 shots on target but score 1 and concede 2 or 3.

cisse today was awful, the keeper shouldnt have been able to make those saves, he always hits it straight at the keeper, i'd have rather seen us take a chance on our young campbell than play cisse, at least campbell can stay onside whilst making a run, His 13 goals last season were just lucky, the odds of getting lucky with the 13 goals he scored last season must be huge, but looking at him this season i think its fair to say he isnt that good. He isnt an intelligent player, his anticpitation is awful as he is rarely anywhere near the ball at the end of any team move, if he is he is tackled far to often; he does definately try, so no criticism there, but in all honesty he needs to be dropped in favour of a young player, if they dont score we can say he is young you cant expect too much too soon, by not playing cisse we are risking nothing, as at present he gives us nothing, I think another striker would have scored at least one goal today with his chances. Its to much of a coincidence that the keeper pretty much always saves his shots. Tim krul doesnt manage to save most shots against him, so how is it the opposing teams keeper often manages to save all ours? answer, because we pretty much always hit and hope, and most the time its right down the middle. Cabaye was a great example of what rewards we get when a player uses his head and actually aims the ball where he wants to put it.

Then there is our winger Jonas, he doesnt ever give you a cross worth attacking, then we have williamson, our new bramble, there is always an error in him, and his attacking play on set pieces is in my eyes the key reason we havnt scored from one all season until cabaye scored a direct one today. Why he is always the target I have no idea. Then you have to look at our fullbacks, santon has been lauded as being a great player all season for us, but what does he actually do, the goal from reading and many others this season have come from crosses that were delivered from his side. when he goes forwards he looks good until he cuts in, then its either a shot that goes wide or gets saved, or a pass back, I just want to see a player take a few steps and whip in a cross. I think Anita hasnt had enough time to settle in to the club yet so any criticsm of him is unfair.

Kruls kicking pretty much always results in the ball coming back at us, if we played it from the back more often, the defence would be under so much less pressure. Our throw ins are also consistently rubbish, how many times have you seen a newcastle throw in result in possession of the ball to the opposition, you rarely see newcastle get possession of the ball from a throw in off the opposing team.

then theres passing? passing? how can any fan be able to be critical of passing and short passing at that? I could pass a ball to someone stood 5 meters away from me under pressure and probably get 6 or 7 of those passes correct, i'm not a pro, its fair to expect a pro to get 8-9 or all 10 correct, yet we have seen consistently in many of our games, simple short passes being intercepted or passed behind the intended target, or sometimes off the pitch, occassionally we even decide to set up an all out attack for our opposition with a short misplaced pass.

Movement is another area, too often do we see A) no one getting into the box when we are attacking, cisse in the one area of the box where theres no chance he could ever get to the ball from any cross even if it was a good one, which they never are, we stand still and wait for the ball, which is a reason we are constantly under pressure from a pressurising opponent who most the time dispossess us or force us into an error.

If I were on the opposition, I would openly make sure every opportunity i got I put the ball out for a corner, As this is a guarenteed way to ensure that you dont concede a goal against us. We are just totally hopeless at them, Wolves was the last game in the premier league I remember us scoring a corener. same goes for free kicks in wide positions. We would be better playing it short and then trying to just continue as normal, that is if we could pass the ball 5 meters without losing it again.

the only pace we have is with players who do not know what to do with the ball when they use the pace to get into a position which could be threatening, unfortunately and it says a lot about our season this year, obertan has been one of the better players. but him and sammi ameaobi, they just run and then turn backwards, and if they dont they deliver a poor cross which gives away possession or they are tackled.

New signings? hmmm, why on earth would you want to come here right now? top striker? hmmm, if im a top striker, and I dont have any affinity for the club newcastle, I am not going to risk my reputation to join a team that cant create a goal scoring opportunity for me. If im a top quality defender, I dont want to join a team that cant keep possession and as a result will be under constant pressure in most games with me having to somehow try and keep a clean sheet, only for my center back partner to make a stupid mistake which gifts the opposition a goal anyway. If im a top midfielder, I dont want to come either, because I know my chances are limited with cabaye, tiote and ben arfa in the team, until one of these are sold, im not keen, as im a top player and wont warm a bench.

so yes im worried this new defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa we have bid for is going to reject us, I mean he has been linked with Arsenal, Man utd and milan, why come and join a team thats going to be in the championship next season. Ive looked through our fixtures, and based on current performances over the last 15 games, I think we have 3 maybe 4 wins in us at the most, that will not take us near that 40 point mark our all knowing manager is aiming for.

Change the manager? I dont think so, since when does sacking the manager ever fix things, if you want a change, you do it at the end of the season, and let them take the team from the start of a new season, coming in already under pressure and having to get to know your team is never a good idea, in the season we were relegated, we changed our manager. However I still think we are probably going to be relegated now anyway. We cant beat Reading at home? with our quality players returning to the team. We had these quality players who pardew counts as quality players in the team against reading today, Cabaye, Cisse, Collocini, Santon, Anita, Jonas, Krul, Debuchy & Marveux, along with the experienced Ameobi.

& now cabaye is injured again anyway. What quality did reading have? Le fondre? Pogrebnyak? Mariappa? Guthrie? Kebe?

No cabaye or not we still should be able to compete with these players, our other players should be good enough, i mean im sure if reading had half our squad, they would be in their line up in replacement of some of their star players at present, one of those used to be our player, we decided he wasnt good enough for a 1st team place. Yet he is on the winning team against us - irony?

I had the conversation with a lad yesterday about Cisse being offside. Two main things, he plays off the shoulder, waiting for balls to be played through. This way is always going to produce more offsides.
Second, he wasnt getting so many offsides last season. Main reason was that he had decent players feeding him that were on his wavelength. This season he either hasnt been playing in the middle or hasnt had Cabaye and Benny to feed him. You could see it in the first half yesterday especially. They are on the same wavelength and Cabaye was putting through some lovely balls.
