Deal Agreed: Remy On His Way To Newcastle

Newcastle United are close to completing their move for Marseille striker Loic Remy after the French club's president Vincent Labrune confirmed they have agreed terms. The 26 year old is reportedly on his way to Newcastle to finalise the deal, having left the squad currently preparing for their game against Sochaux this evening.

Labrune told RMC Sport;

"We have an agreement in principle with Newcastle, it is true.

We have therefore given Loic permission to chat with them. For the rest, we must wait patiently."

Remy had already rejected a move by Queens Park Rangers, in favour of Newcastle United. The agreed deal is said to be around 10.5Million Euros.

He has started just two league games this season after a thigh injury ruled him out of the 2012 World Cup leaving him struggling to find form.

Can't confirm till he passes a medical I assume. Hopefully be confirmed tomorrow/Tuesday/

Thank @#$%& for that. He has a heart defect which could be problematic but it supposedly didn't stop his move to Marseille, it should be ok.

Let's hope this goes through a heart defect you say that's a bit worrying I would think for him being a professional footballer.it can't be a problem as he is still playing.
