Newcastle United travel to Norwich City tomorrow, coming through one crisis and walking straight into another, with their team captain Coloccini, wanting to leave the club as soon as possible. Newcastle go into the game on the back of five defeats and one win from their last six games in all competitions, whilst Norwich, who are five points ahead of Newcastle have lost four and won two.
Norwich are without John Ruddy (groin), Steve Morison (thigh), Steven Whittaker and Andrew Surman (both hip), but are expected to welcome back Grant Holt (hamstring) and Jonny Howson (illness).
Newcastle are without Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring), Dan Gosling (knee), Danny Simpson (broken toe), Ryan Taylor (knee), Haris Vuckic (knee) and Steven Taylor (hamstring).
Shola Ameobi is also suspended after picking up two yellow cards and being sent off against Brighton at the weekend in the FA Cup.
However Alan Pardew will be relieved to welcome back Jonas Gutierrez (knee), Yohan Cabaye (groin), Papiss Cisse (thigh) and James Perch (knee). Captain Fabricio Coloccini (hamstring) is also available, but with so much speculation as to whether or not he is leaving the club with personal reasons cited as his need to leave, he could be left out of the starting eleven.
As a relegation battle looms Pardew is keen to bring in several players to bolster his squad. The first through the door was Mathieu Debuchy who is expected to start tomorrow afternoon at Carrow Road.
Fact: Newcastle have played 16 away games this season in all competitions and failed to take home a win.
Fact: Norwich lost all their games over Xmas but before that they were unbeaten in 10.
