Manchester United’s Jonny Evans has scored twice to see Newcastle go into half time ahead in the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Evans scored Manchester United’s equaliser in the 25th minute of the game before putting Newcastle ahead in the 29th. The goal which was ruled offside initially by the linesman, as Papiss Cisse was off side, was then ruled a goal by referee Mike Dean who deemed Cisse to not be interfering with play.

The decision has split pundits with several agreeing the goal standing is the correct decision whilst others such as former Sunderland defender Michael Gray who was quoted by BBC Final Score disagreeing:

"Newcastle had been shooting on sight against Manchester United. It has turned round now after Javier Hernandez found himself in some space like he always does.

Papiss Cisse was surely interfering there for Newcastle's second goal. He was in line with the shot and he was offside all day there.

Sir Alex Ferguson will go crazy at half-time when he sees that. It had to be called offside."

Either way Newcastle go into the break 2-1 up at Old Trafford and Manchester United seem to have spent the last 20 minute panicking. Jonny Evans also got booked in the 36^th minute. He may not see the 2^nd half.
