Xisco's Back But Donachie Not Confident Of 1st Team Place

Newcaste United's Spanish striker Xisco made his first appearance for the club on Monday night in the reserves game against Aston Villa at Villa Park. The 26 year old hasn't played a game for the club at any level since the summer of 2011, which was also a reserves game. He got an assist for Adam Campbells goal in the 57th minute and was substituted off in the 58th.

Reserves coach Willie Donachie said in a post match interview;

"It was great for Xisco because he's not played all pre-season.  And again, it's the only way he will learn, the only way he will get ready for whenever he plays in a first team."

Xisco, who spent last season back on loan to his former club Deportivo La Coruna is on £50k a week and a 5 year deal at the club, but has made just 11 first team appearances since signing 4 years ago for £5.7M

You can have a certain amount of overage players (3 I think), hence why Gosling was involved as well.
