Rumour Has It....Newcastle Accept £2M Offer For Best

Rumour has it Newcastle United have accepted a £2million bid for striker Leon Best, from Blackburn Rovers. The 25 year old is yet to be convinced to move from the Premier League and into the Championship but is almost guarenteed regular games with the imminent departure of Yakubu should he sign on the line.

Back in January Celtic put in a loan offer for Best before having it turned down by Newcastle, who preferred a permanent move. Best then opted to stay at Newcastle, chosing instead to fight for a first team place.

However, with the signings of Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse, Best has fallen further and further down the pecking order, making just 19 starts and 2 substitute appearances in all competitions last season.

Best scored four goals last season and got two assists, the previous season he made just 10 starts and 3 appearances as a substitute, scoring 6 Premier League goals.

Should do well in the Championship, I quite like him and he had a good scoring record when he was most used in the second half of 10/11.

Admitedly he never scored in the second half of our Championship season but Ba never scored in the second half of this so it can happen to the best of them (pardon the pun).

Wasn't used so much last season so understandably didn't score too much.

Good luck to him regardless of his destination I liked him as a player but too much like shola , as soon as he gets a run of games and starts getting a few goals go's out injured and the cycle starts all over again very frustrating but will always be appreciated for his service (when available) to the clubs cause

If a championship team gets him then he will get goals and I thought that Norwich may also go for him with CH being there. I like the lad and his attitude seems to be right, he just needs to sort out the injuries

Leon never actually scored a goal with Chris as his manager though.

Good luck to him, he will do well at Blackburn if he decides to go.
