Coloccini Out For Two to Three Weeks

By Tyne-Talk
March 25 2012

Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini could be out for two to three games after being forced out of the game against West Bromwich Albion with a hamstring injury. The Argentinian appeared to be struggling in the 37th minute of the game and indicated to manager Alan Pardew that he could not continue. He made it to half time but was substituted off, with Davide Santon replacing him.

During the half time interval Pardew confirmed that Coloccini could not have played on in the second half and he will have his hamstring assessed to see how serious the problem is.

Pardew told reporters in his post-match interview that their captain could unfortunately be out for two to three games with the injury. He will miss games against Liverpool (h) and Swansea (a) and could miss the following games against Bolton Wanderers (h) and Chelsea (a) if serious.

Could or will? This piece seems to be of two minds.

I'll assume he's going to miss time. And so: @#$%&!

Yeah, really takes the gloss off today's result.

Lets wait and see what they say tom. He had something similar earlier in the season if i remember right, and he managed to shake it off quite quickly.

According to Sky News this morning, Colo is out for up to a month.

Bad bad news indeed.

Lets just hope that worst case scenario Annie and they are only reporting on what AP said after the game.

Fingers crossed.

He's clearly going to miss time.

This was predictable.

Perch is on good form, Tiote's coming back and LFC are@#$%&right now so I still have hope for this weekend. I actually fear Swansea more right now.

When you get to this stage of the season, form goes out the window and there are plenty of shocks, Liverpool won't be the easy game as people think

I dont think many people think its an easy game TTID, more hope I would think. They will be bang up for it with the ex toon trio. Plus the slating they have been getting in the press.

Hopefully Tiote will be back and would like to see the same formation/tactics deployed. They play slightly narrow at times with Downing being the only real winger. Maybe they will try Bellamy on left. Who knows.

Not an easy game, but fact is we've been better than them for 30 matches this season. They just got beat by Wigan and they have one dangerous player in front of goal.

You can never expect a result but there's no reason we shouldn't be in this game. LFC have at least as much to fear from us as us from them.

Will Bellamy be fit for this match?

Any hope of them overtaking us, means they have to come out and attack, and on the day they have enough fire power to get goals, the defence may be cr@p but so will ours, with the injuries we have

I can see this being a really open game and plenty of goals

Suarez has scored 11 of their 36 league goals in 30 matches this season.

"They" really don't seem to have many goals in them.
