FA CUP 4th Round : Newcastle Draw Wrexham or Brighton

Newcastle United have been drawn away from home against Wrexham or Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The game which is scheduled to be played on the weekend of the 28 and 29th of January 2012, will come as a relief to Newcastle who could have been drawn against several other Premier League sides, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all still in the draw.

Arsenal or Leeds who are due to play tomorrow night will host Aston Villa, whilst MK Dons or QPR will play Chelsea. This big game of the draw is Liverpool who will host Manchester United at Anfield, whilst Everton will host Fulham.

Decent draw - while a number of premier league teams were drawn against one another:

Everton vs Fulham
Liverpool vs Man Utd
West Brom vs Norwich
Arsenal or Leeds vs Aston Villa
Macclesfield or Bolton vs Swansea

We either get a non-league or a midtable Championship side. To be honest; I'd prefer facing Brighton - think we'd have less of a motivation issue playing against them (Think Stevenage last year...).


ALSO - Neil Warnock is axed as QPR manager. Another helping hand for next weekend (in addition to Bartons suspension)?

Just saw that on Warnock - I like him as a manager shame they sacked him

Warnock was a decent manager and I dont know what the board are expecting.

As for the cup I hope we get Brighton, am I right in thinking Poyet had a dig at NUFC recently over some issue ? Get some revenge on them for that, even though I cant remember what it was about. Is Lua Lua still down at Brighton ?

Wasn't a bad draw and when you look at some of the teams we could have got it could have been bad, would have been better had we been at home

Warnock gone wasn't a shock when you take into account how many players he brought in and then you look at Swansea and Norwich and how well they are doing, only thing is with him going will the players give the new man or caretaker manager a positive response against us

Warnock brought in players but spent very little-for me, the writing was on the wall at that point. They were never going to let him spend the money.

On topic, it's a good draw either way.

I was fully expecting the winner of the Manchester derby.
