Nile Nicked Again Despite Being On Bail

Newcastle United Striker Nile Ranger was arrested, charged and bailed yesterday for being drunk and disorderly in Newcastle’s Cathedral Square. Ranger, who is already on bail for a previous drink driving offence and an assault charge, will also be in breach of club rules which enforces a club curfew of no drinking 48 hours before a game.

Northumbria Police released the following statement;

"Police arrested a 20-year-old man for being drunk and disorderly in the Cathedral Square area of Newcastle city centre. Nile Ranger, 20, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly and will appear at magistrates' court later this month.''

At aged 15 Ranger was sentenced to 11 weeks at a Young Offenders institution for his part in an armed robbery, on 27th August 2011 he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man in the City Centre leaving him unconscious, a case he is due to answer bail to later this week.

He was warned by the club in the summer to start looking for another employer due to his off-field antics and has only just been reintroduced to the first team, having been demoted to the reserves for three months after being photographed with a replica gun and being told by manager Alan Pardew to behave.
