Newcastle United's Hatem Ben Arfa, who made his first start for the club since last October on Tuesday night against Nottingham Forest, in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup, has thanked the fans for their ongoing support during his injury.
He was quoted in The Journal saying;
“I cannot wait to be back at St James’ among our fans. I was very touched by their support. They were always behind me and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for that.
Now, I want to give them back on the pitch what they gave me off it, times 1,000.
I do not feel any pain at all. Now, the coach will make his choices. I think maybe he will get me slowly in the team, but I feel ready to play every game now!”
Manager Alan Pardew is also pleased with the 24 year olds return, but is adamant he will not be rushed back. He said;
“We all know that Hatem brings something special to the team. But we don’t have to rush him.”

I hope you're saying the same after your NUFC testimonial in 2021, Benny!
