The Blues were crushed by Barry Hall and the Swans today in Sydney's greatest win over them but more than that, they were destroyed by their own ineptitude.  For much of the game Carlton went inside the forward 50 more often than Sydney but terrible delivery and decision making coupled with the willing Sydney defensive workers saw the Blues get little reward for their work.  To top it off, when the Sydney midfielders had the ball, their Carlton opponents were not interesting in providing any resistance.  Pick a few fans from the crowd and they at least would have put themselves on the line to stop the Swans free running.  I had to feel for Stephen Silvagni having to sit in the Channel 10 commentary box and be subjected to 22 imposters making a mockery of a once proud club.

I'm not going to review the game because 4 goals in a whole match for Carlton confirms there was no game.  Worse 4 behinds in the third quarter and not a cracker in the final quarter confirms the depths they have sunk to. Carlton had a lot of possession getters but no winners on the day and the less said about that the better.  The second consecutive last quarter capitulation defies belief and merely highlights the lack of commitment and professionalism in the side.  For great player like Bradley and McKay to be asked to perform under these circumstances is a tall order indeed.

All Carlton fans should now band together and petition Malcolm Blight to come to the club and announce Matthew Allan as the worst ruckman in the competition.  I dare say after this round Carlton will be on the bottom of the ladder unopposed and the paint will be peeling in Big Jack's office as we speak.

First step, readdress the discipline in the team and make sure that no players are spotted out having a drink after yet another pathetic effort.  In the wake of this, I would probably send half the team back to the VFL though I no an overreaction like that would be futile.

To search for the smallest positive I can, Trent Sporn was a good contributor for the Blues in his first match and .... errr.... um .... the Pup is coming back next week.
