England Cricket Coach Paul Farbrace is to leave the international circuit and become the sport director of Warwickshire. It means England will be without the man who joined with Peter Moores back in 2014, for their biggest year for many a decade.

Having worked alongside Moore's, Farbrace then was caretaker coach for a spell before Trevor Bayliss was appointed. Before that he was Sri Lankan head coach and is seen by some as leading the flamboyant way England approach white ball cricket. 

It was whilst he was with Sri Lanka, that they lifted the Twenty20 World Cup.

Frabrace told the BBC "Warwickshire is a very special club with incredibly proud traditions, and I'm very excited at being given this opportunity."

"Whilst having won trophies across all formats in the last 10 years, the squad has gone through a major transition process in the last two years and it has a very exciting future following the emergence of several talented young players." He went on.

It will cerainly leave new CEO Ashley Giles with much to ponder ahead of the World Cup and the Ashes this summer, as he seeks to replace him, at a time as well that Bayliss himself will be bowing out after the Ashes series, will England go with a temporary fix and let the new head coach pick his assistant, or will Giles impose his own man on the squad?
