Nick Compton 'unhappy' with selectors

England opener Nick Compton has had a dig at the England Cricket selectors, following his ommision from the warm up game with Essex this week, that saw Joe Root promoted to open with captain Alastair Cook....

Despite being 'loaned out' to Worcestershire to face Australia in their warm up game, and scoring 79 on first innings, Compton says that he hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip.

After scoring back to back centuries in New Zealand, Compton looked out of sorts for the home series with the Kiwi's and as a result, it looks like Root has been given the nod for the Ashes opener at Trent Bridge.

Compton told BBC Sport that he had no idea what was happening with the openers slot "I don't know where things stand to be honest. I got told I had been dropped. Your guess is as good as mine."

He went on "People doubted me in India, they doubted me when I got nought in New Zealand and then I scored two hundreds but they even doubted me after that series."
