England are waiting on the fitness of Stuart Broad and Steven Finn ahead of the third and final ODI with New Zealand, which takes place at Trent Bridge on Wednesday...

It is the final chance for the host nation of the Champions Trophy to get things right, ahead of the tournament starting this coming weekend.

So far, England have been thrashed twice by New Zealand in the three match Natwest series, so this third game is officially a 'dead rubber', but with the Champions Trophy on the horizon, captain Alastair Cook and several under performing England Cricketers know differently.

It is clear, that England have missed two of their quickest bowlers, enabling New Zealand to post a massive 359-3 in the second ODI on Sunday.

Broad has been out with a bruised knee and Finn, with a sore shin.

Both however took part in England's training session on Tuesday ahead of the match.

Cook told BBC Sport

"Clearly when you lose bowlers of the quality of Stuart and Finny, it does leave a hole."

"It's given the opportunity to guys to step up and show us what they can do. We've learned a lot about these players and about us as a side for the future."

"But it's obviously a concern, the standards we've played to here haven't been good enough."He concluded.
