Broad Praises 'Complete' England

England Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad has hailed his sides performance in their 40 run win over New Zealand, as the best of his captaincy. England were simply superb in posting 214-7 from their 20 overs, as they took full advantage of the short boundaries at Eden Park in Auckland....

"It is certainly the most complete performance that I've captained," Broad told BBC Sport.

"To have the mindset to go and get such a high score and defend it so comprehensively - we are delighted."

Every top order batsman contributed to the score, and England at one stage could have had even more than the 214 they posted, but for a spirited comeback from the home side in the last three overs.

"To go and get 214 and keep going with the freedom we did meant it was all set up for the bowlers, and the fielding was excellent too," Broad concluded.

The two sides will meet again on Tuesday in Hamilton, in the second match of three, with the visitors hoping to secure the series with one game to spare.
