Kevin Pietersen has sensationally hinted at a dramatic u-turn regarding his decision to quit the England Cricket one day team, and we understand talks between his advisers and the ECB have already begun....

KP had been forced to quit both 50 over and Twenty20 cricket, when he approached the ECB stating he wanted to step back from the fifty over format, but continue in the shortest form of the game, mindful of the upcoming T20 world cup in Sri Lanka.

Pietersen cited that England's schedule was putting strain on his young family and wanted to reduce the amount of time he was being asked to stay away from home.

Now the box office batsman has revealed that he wants to reach an agreement with the ECB that would allow him to play all forms of the game for the next three or four years, but that his schedule must be looked at first to allow this to happen.

Speaking in the SUN newspaper today, Pietersen confirmed that talks were already in place and that he was hoping to return to all forms of the game some time soon "If they could sort my schedule out, I’d love to play for another three or four years in all forms of cricket. But the schedule at the moment is a nightmare. I hope something can be sorted out.”

England players contracts, state that they need to be available for both 50 over and Twenty20 cricket, so when Pietersen said he needed a break from one form, he was then making himself unavailable for both, and left with just test cricket to keep him occupied.

He proved in sublime form for Surrey yesterday, smashing an unbeaten double century in the match with Lancashire at Guildford.

Once again though, with a mouth watering test series with South Africa on the horizon, all the talk is of Kevin Pietersen, would we really have it any other way?
