St. Mirren striker Michael Higdon became Stuart McCall’s first new signing of the summer today.
After losing John Sutton to Hearts last week the manager has wasted no time at all in snapping up someone to replace him. He has picked up his number one target Michael Higdon.
The former Falkirk and St. Mirren striker will officially sign up next Thursday when the next transfer window opens.
Higdon has always caused us problems any time he has played against us, he has shown great strength and has dominated our centre halves for both Falkirk and the Saints.
He also has an eye for a goal, scoring 14 goals in 29 SPL games last season, almost as good as the record of John Sutton, suggesting this doesn’t weaken our squad at all.
With the papers reporting this morning that Stephen Craigan and Steven Jennings are likely to sign up when they come back from their holidays and Shaun Hutchinson extending his stay yesterday this has been a positive start to the summer.
Hopefully McCall can follow this up with another couple of quality signings, next season could be worth looking forward to.
