Scottish Cup at Tannadice tomorrow

We are on our Scottish Cup travels once again, for the third time this season, as we travel to take on Dundee Utd at Tannadice in the Quarter Finals.

Much has been made this is a re-run of our stunning cup final win 20 years ago over the same side in 1991. What everyone seems to overlook is that we have been drawn to take on United three other times and we haven’t beaten them in that time!!

While it is great to look back at 1991 I would rather we were talking about 2011, or indeed our 2005 run to the final that was halted by Rangers!!

Tomorrow I will travel to Tannadice in the usual feeling of hope rather than expectation. United are in a good run of form while we never know what we are going to come up with.

The manager has selection problems tomorrow, Jennings is suspended and what does he do in midfield to replace him? Do we move Hateley from full back and bring in Saunders, do we go with a four of Murphy, Lasley, Forbes and the fit again Jones?

Then there is the Stephen Craigan question, do we bring him back to replace Gunning or Hutchinson. The young pairing was brilliant in the win over Celtic but they were guilty for at least two of the goals last week.

As it may appear I am not confident but if we can get through this one and avoid Celtic (if they get through) in the semi final who knows what can happen.
