It looks as though our game with Hearts on Sunday will go ahead with a foreign ref in charge as the SFA looks to beat the Scottish officials strike.
It looked as though earlier in the week the game was going to be very much in doubt thanks to the referee's strike. While it goes ahead at the weekend the SFA have managed to scour Europe and come up with referee's to take charge of some of the games including our televised clash with Hearts on Sunday.
However it would appear the SFA has managed to recruit three sets of officials from Poland, while the Israeli FA has confirmed that they are sending officials.
SFA Chief Executive Stewart Regan said today, "The referees who have offered their services will either be Fifa-approved or will have achieved Category One status in their respective countries. I repeat it is deeply sad that we have arrived at this situation but as I have stated previously, it is incumbent on the Scottish FA to honour our obligations to our league partners.”
It will be interesting to see how their interpretation of the laws transfer to Scottish games!
