Mark McGhee has said today the he recommended Craig Brown and Archie Knox to Motherwell before he left - is there no end to this guys self importance?

Former Motherwell boss Mark McGhee returns to Fir Park with his Aberdeen side, and ahead of the game he has taken the credit for last season's resurgence as he claims to have recommended Knox and Brown to John Boyle.

"When I left the club one of the recommendations I made to John Boyle was to consider the likes of Archie and possibly Craig at that time.

"I have nothing but respect for them but we believe we can beat them."

The man has taken the credit for everything now, although he did help us get to third in the table, and then into Europe via the fair play place, and now he takes the credit for last season as well.

Maybe he should look to sorting out his own side before he starts taking credit for things taking place at Fir Park nowadays.

I am sure he will be given a warm welcome by the Well fans tomorrow and I am also certain taht none of them will mourn if we take all three points from Aberdeen and heap more pressure on McGhee.

This could well be part of the mind games before the game, but I believe Brown and Knox will be too clever to fall for this nonsense!
