Rovers secure first summer signing.

Matt Taylor has secured his first summer signing bringing in Isaac Hutchinson from League Two side Walsall. Hutchinson joins Rovers on a three year deal with a option of a further year. The 24 year old is a creative midfielder who was voted as Fans Player of the season at the end of the last campaign, he scored 12 times and created 11 assists and played in every league game for The Saddlers.

He joined Brighton & Hove Albion’s Academy at ten years old and spent eight years before moving on to Southend United, he has also had spells at Derby County and Crawley Town. Hutchinson was offered a new deal with Walsall but decided to on a move to The Memorial Stadium for a new challenge. Rovers had to pay a fee for the attacking midfielder believed to be around £150,000. Gasheads will be hoping this is the first of many new faces in at BS7 after 14 players departed at the end of last season.
