Barnsley sign Scott Banks on loan

Barnsley have announced the signing of winger Scott Banks from St. Pauli on loan until the end of the season.

 

The 24-year-old was recalled from Blackpool where he spent the first half of the season, scoring five times in 20 matches in all competitions. 

 

Banks is a left-footed right winger who is also comfortable playing across the forward line. 

 

The Scotsman began his career at Dundee United but was sold to Crystal Palace as an 18-year-old. 

 

He never played a league game for The Eagles, having various loan spells including Bradford City in 2022/23 where he scored six goals and provided five assists in 31 League Two matches. 

 

Banks moved on loan to St. Pauli in 2023/24, and after a campaign impacted by injury, he provided an important assist on the final day of the season to help the German club reach the Bundesliga. 

 

St. Pauli made the deal permanent, and he went on to make 12 appearances in the Bundesliga.
